#anime-cel Wacky Cel Terms
$$ -- denotes that a cel is expensive. More dollar signs means more
money. Usage: That cel is $$$.
ack threshold -- the price (range) at which a collector goes "ack!"
when they have to think about going above it. This is different for every
collector and has a tendency to only go up as tolerance increases.
bipolar collecting -- a term for collectors who go through incredible
mood shifts/philosophy shifts on time scales of like a day because of
current cel happenings.
cel triage -- quickly going through cel images with prices at an
update to figure out which is going in the order and which will not.
fraudcel -- a cel made by a fan but not using original art, an
unliscensed reproduction.
NickBoard -- Anime Chaos' anime cel ezboard
Open-source reseller -- Someone who buys cels from an open source to
the US internet cel collecting community (like a well-known easy to buy
from internet cel shop) just to immediately mark up and sell it for a
higher price, sometimes on eBay, sometimes not.
revolving door collector -- someone who is constantly
selling/reselling from their collection to afford new cels, meaning old cels
may not stay for even a month. This person displays a tendency not to try
to make a huge profit or do it conciously unlike some resellers who might
try to appear as revolving door collectors.
RinkyaBoard -- Cels forum on the Rinkya site.
RivenBoard -- Riven's anime cel ezboard.
slash n' burn -- like revolving door, but with a passion. Often
results in worse market effects than revolving door too. Often much faster
than revolving door.
taroboard -- the very dense cardboard that Anime Taro uses to pack
their cels.
that person in japan -- you know, the one with the collection of all
the cels you really really want but no intention of ever letting them go?
viboard -- the wood Anime Shop Vi uses to pack cels.
Yann- -- prefix denoting stuff related to Yann Stettler.
YannBoard -- Animanga Cels Forum. Often just 'YB'
YannBox -- the cardboard boxes Yann Stettler/Animanga uses to ship
cels in.
