NAME
update-mediawiki - Updates a mediawiki installation and patches it for UGCS
SYNOPSIS
update-mediawiki [-v version] target
OPTIONS
- -v version
-
Specifies the version to use. By default, it uses "current". See /afs/.ugcs/public/mediawiki to see the versions currently available
- target
-
The target directory to update
EXAMPLES
update-mediawiki ~/public/html/wiki
Updates the MediaWiki in ~/public/html/wiki to the latest version.
PROCESS
The script starts by backing up the installation by tar'ing it up and dumping the database. It then untars the new version, patches it, and runs the included updater. If necessary, it generates AdminSettings.php with reasonable settings.
