Athena is one of the UGCS fileservers. In particular, it is the AFS server that holds the home directories.

  • Supermicro 2U rackmount server, redundant power supplies
  • Two Intel Xeon E5504 Quad-core 2GHz processors
  • 12GB ram
  • 4 1.5TB SATA hard drives
  • Supermicro AOC-SIM1U+ IPMI card

Configuration

  • Login access: sysadmins
  • Cfengine class coreserver, afs_server

  • /dev/md0: raid5, /dev/sd[a-d]3, LVM physical volume in volume group "athena" (total size 4.08TB)
  • /dev/md1: raid1, /dev/sd[a-d]1, mounted on /boot (total size 200MB)

LVM

  • Volume Group "athena" on /dev/md0 (total size 4.08TB)
    • LV athena-root: mounted on / (total size 9.4GB)
    • LV athena-tmp: mounted on /tmp (total size 4.7GB)
    • LV athena-afscache: mounted on /var/cache/openafs (total size 9.2GB)
    • LV athena-vicepa: mounted on /vicepa (total size 1TB)
    • LV athena-vicepb: mounted on /vicepb (total size 1TB)
    • LV athena-vicepc: mounted on /vicepc (total size 1TB)
