Mortals

The mortals is a set of machines that are designed for long-term, CPU-intestive tasks. They are a set of 5 dual-Opteron machines in UGCS. They have the exact same software as the main shellservers

You can log into the one with the lowest load by using "mortals.ugcs.caltech.edu". Once logged in to either a shellserver or a mortal, you can use "ruptime-mortal" to see the loads of each of the mortals.

We recommend the use of mssh to run jobs on all of the machines at once. For example,

mssh mortal uptime
