NFS

Alongside our AFS home directories, UGCS has a large NFS shared space for users to use. This space, mounted on /mnt/shared on all shellservers, has 1Tb of space and no quotas. It is meant to be used for semi-temporary space for doing computations across multiple machines. This space is not backed up, so important files should also be copied into your home directory.

How to Use

To use, create a directory for yourself under /mnt/shared

mkdir username /mnt/shared

Then you can use it as you'd like

Remote Access

Unfortunately, we cannot allow this space to be mounted by users outside of UGCS. If you need access to it from your home machine, we recommend using a SCP or SFTP implementation (WinSCP, Firezilla, sshfs, Fugu, etc)
