Email Server Settings

Back in the day, all you had to do to get mail was walk to the end of your driveway and open your mailbox. Since then, things have gotten a little more complicated. Here is the server information for UGCS's email servers- all protocols require your UGCS username (without @ugcs.caltech.edu) and password for access.

POP

Host: pop.ugcs.caltech.edu (if this doesn't work try hermes.ugcs.caltech.edu)

Port: 995

Encryption: SSL

Authentication Method: Plain (if you know what you're doing, you can use GSSAPI)

IMAP

Host: imap.ugcs.caltech.edu (if this doesn't work try hermes.ugcs.caltech.edu)

Port: 993

Encryption: SSL

Authentication Method: Clear text, Plain, or GSSAPI (if you have local Kerberos tokens)

SMTP

Host: smtp.ugcs.caltech.edu (if this doesn't work try hermes.ugcs.caltech.edu)

Port: 465

Encryption: SSL (preferred) or TLS

Authentication Method: Plain, or GSSAPI (if you have local Kerberos tokens)
