This page aims to be a list of all the services we offer and which machines they run on.

Basic Auth and network services

  • Kerberos KDC on Zeus, Hera
  • Kerberos krb5-admin-server on Zeus
  • OpenLDAP on Hera (head), Zeus
  • DNS (BIND 9)
    • Demeter
    • IMSS is a slave to our DNS, so they act as our backup
  • DHCP- Demeter

File services

  • OpenAFS 1.4 fileservers on:

Each one of these machines is an AFS database server as well.

  • Shellserver files (rsync)
    • Hestia- holds 32-bit shellserver images

Cluster services

  • Cfengine master (can call cfrun on other machines and serves out the config files via nfs)
    • Demeter
  • Multiplecron (distributes cron jobs around)
    • Dionysus runs the master, shellservers run the actual jobs
  • Cluster-wide Logging - Charon
  • Splunk (log searching)- Charon
  • Distcc- All shellservers
  • Backups (Bacula) Persephone
  • Monitoring (Nagios)- Dionysus

Public Services

  • HTTP (Apache)
    • Poseidon- Main web server
    • Dionysus- Backup web server. Will probably need a little bit of work before it can take over for posiedon
    • Hermes- Mailman list interface and webmail
  • Database (postgres and mysql)- Poseidon
  • PGP Key server (sks)- Dionysus
  • SVN server- Poseidon

Mail Services

  • Postfix server for incoming mail
    • Hermes- mail server, handles delivery
    • Kabta- backup server, holds mail for delivery until hermes is back up
  • Spam Filtering
    • Hermes
  • IMAP/POP3 (Dovecot)
    • Hermes
  • Webmail (squirrelmail and roundcube)
    • Hermes
