Ritual of the Crimson Circle

A Modification of the Star Ruby

The ritual of the Star Ruby is central to the Ordo Templi Orientis. A copy of it can be found here: http://thelema.oto-usa.org/chapel/Lib25.html. I felt there were elements of it that, as a woman, were difficult or absurd (such as the exhortation of one's phallus). I developed the following ritual (which I'm still working on) as a way to propagate and use a more female oriented energy in the working. There is a more substantial change then just swapping a dick for a clit.

The ritual follows the traditional "cross, circle, cross" formula of the lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram on which it is based. It is easiest in a cleared area at least 6 feet across. I like to do ritual to music, here are some songs by the folks at Black Sun Lodge which I think work well. For this ritual, I especially like the one called "Soulenoid". You can download their songs here: http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/110/demogorgon.html. The ritual is roughly circle shaped; unless noted otherwise, actions are preformed in the center of the circle, facing the direction specified. Incantations are in greek (my greek is poor, so the spelling in English is a bit odd). Eventually, I'll add mp3s of someone speaking the incantations.

Begin in the center facing east the East.

Put lip to fingers, as if to hush.

Sweep hand forward, expelling the breath loudly and casting out the negative. say "Apo pantos Kakodaemanos"== "Depart from me, evil spirits."

Bring hand to forehead say "Soi" == "be (you)"

Bring hand to vulva, say "O aidoion" == "o vulva"

To the left shoulder, "ygros" == "wet"

To the right shoulder, "thriambefitis" == "triumphant"

Hands in a triangle between and just below the breasts, in a downward triangle, Vibrate "IAO".

Now head to the eastern quarter. Standing in the extreme east, facing out.

There is a pantegram (point up) on the forehead.

In the sign of horus, it is exclaimed, "Chaos"

In the north, in the same stature, it is rumbled "Nuit"

In the west, there is a cry: "Babylon"

In the south, it is called "Psyche"

Once more to the east, then back to center.

In the sign which has arms splayed wide and the hips swinging, it is sung, "I O Babylon" and so forth until the spirit is within you. Here you may opt for the NOX signs instead if it is desired. spinning may be employed as well, but at all times, the hips must swing.

Once again, face to the east, as each quarter is called, the hips are drawn thereto.

"Pro mou, Iyggec.

Opiso mou, teletarxa.

Eparistera, Daimonc.

Flegei feggei."

Before me, the abyss.

Behind me, initiation into the mysteries.

Left of me, the crucible,

Right of me, the spirits.

Sparks enflame."

Now there is a spinning of energy within the body, along the spine. the kundalini rises, and is ready to strike, the arms are flung wide.

"Gar peri mou, o asther ton pente." == "for around me, the star of five."

Tthe arms are drawn quickly in (as if conserving the momentum of spinning on skates or whatnot)

"Kai en thi sthelhi, o asther ton hev." == "and in the column, the star of six."

Stand straight, the body balanced, the energies solid. "Estheke" == "stand"

Repeat as above the cross.

Again, the banishing, as above. "Apo kantos, kakodaemanos"

It is done.
