A peak in the San Gabriel Mountains, accessed from California State Route 2. This jewel is one of the best mountains in So Cal for backcountry skiing. Its ridiculously easy to access and offers multiple descent routes up to 3000 vertical feet. You can find epic tree skiing, steep couloirs, as well as open bowls. Unlike some places that must be approached, the parking area is right at the base of Baden-Powell; you will start climbing the mountain immediately from the car. Its moderately popular, meaning that your odds of finding a boot pack or skin track are high, even just 1 day after a storm. Finally, this mountain has a beautiful summit with killer views of the Los Angeles basin as well as the high peaks in the San Gabriel Mountain range.
