Patrick and Kedron scrambled the East Ridge of Mount Russell . We slept at Upper Boy Scout Lake under a full moon, pestered by a friendly mouse. Cramponing up to the Russell-Carillon col wasn't too painful, as plenty of snow remained. The ridge iteself seemed a bit stiffer than advertised, with a couple of scary slab traverses, likely due the face that parts of the normal route were snow-covered. Nevertheless, we only had to use our crampons and axes for one short section of the ridge, sticking to the rock for the rest.
