The second-highest peak in California. The standard route has an extremely long approach.

Update December 2010: Williamson closure is no longer in effect!.
A class 3 route (so rated because of a short chimney section after climbing a long chute) with a long approach via Sheperd's Pass and Williamson Bowl.
Depending on the start, this is either a long route, or an extremely long route. Secor calls it "one hell of a hard hike" (in summer). It's often guided in winter: see the SMC Winter Williamson page (they also have a PDF with more info) and a brief SMC trip report with photos.
