- We do not have any guide book on the Needles. We had one by Moser, Vernon and Paul but sadly it is missing. I think we should get a new one of this, or maybe by some other authors. Any suggestions? Blackdog 22:13, 30 September 2010 (PDT)
- Our library has a blank for years 1997-2000 and 2004-2009 for the American Alpine Journal, and 1997-2009 for Accidents in American Mountaineering: American Alpine Journal and Accidents in American Mountaineering. I wonder if any of us would be willing to let their journal copies have a nice home in the Club library? Please let me know. Blackdog 21:43, 27 September 2010 (PDT)
- Michael Kennedy's editorial in Alpinist 31 refers to "Cumbre" by Fulvio Mariani as one of the best climbing films. Rolo Garibotti mentions it in his BD page. Don't know where to find it. It's about Marco Pedrini and Fulvio Mariani on Cerro Torre. Just a thought. Srbecker 17:03, 13 July 2010 (PDT)
- Glen Denny: Yosemite in the Sixties looks cool. Just a thought. Srbecker 17:11, 25 July 2010 (PDT)
- Yosemite Climber by George Meyers, 1979. A classic that inspired the post-stonemasters age in Yosemite. It's now rare and hence expensive. If we find it for cheap, we should get it. Srbecker 09:26, 27 July 2010 (PDT)
- It is available for $67 after shipping at this website Blackdog 22:49, 2 September 2010 (PDT)
- Here are some books that people have suggested in the past, but we didn't buy (so they are probably not high priority).
- "50 best climbs in the alps" (I can't find this on Amazon, so perhaps they meant the classic The Mont Blanc Massif: The 100 Finest Routes by Gaston Rebuffat.
- First ascent of the Diamond is a new documentary that just came out. A must for Colorado climbers. It's about Bob Kamps and Dave Rearick's 1960 ascent of the Diamond on Longs Peak, and narrated by Bonnie Kamps and Caltech's own Dave Rearick. Srbecker 09:41, 25 March 2011 (PDT)
Books that are not yet out
