The Land Around My House
As far as I'm concerned, my parents picked a very good
place to live. The climate of Western Oregon is definitely temperate - no
tornados, no hurricanes... just the occasional thunderstorm to spice things up.
Of course, it does rain a lot, but it gets plenty hot for me in the summer.
Besides, lots of rain means a very verdant countryside. We also manage to
avoid earthquakes, riots, traffic jams, major pollution, and overcrowding.
Oregon's coastline is just two hours to the west; the
thickly forested Cascade mountains are to the east. The view from my house
isn't too shabby, either. Take a look.
