Caltech Anime Society Updated December 2: This Week's Schedule, Location this week.

We hold screenings (showings) twice weekly during regular school terms, on Friday and Saturday nights. These showings are free and open to the public; they allegedly begin at 7 PM and run until about 11, and are usually located in the Diversity Center. We also organize and participate in other events - club trips to Little Tokyo, other anime-related events in the area, and starting this year perhaps even the occasional game day.

Good ways to keep up on what we're offering are to check this page or subscribe to our announcements mailing list (that link will also let you unsubscribe). If you have questions, you can email the club secretary. The club also has a phone number, but it's mostly for getting people into a locked building for showings: (626) 7655-CAS.

This week's schedule

Showings are back in the Diversity Center (Center for Student Services, 2nd floor) AND in the Brennen Conference Room (CSS, 3rd floor), on Friday and Saturday respectively. As usual, if you have trouble getting in by going to the appropriate door and knocking, call the club at (626) 7655-CAS. You may prefer to represent that number as (626) 765-5227.

Showings Location

The Brennen Conference Room is located on the 3rd floor of the Center for Student Services (CSS - yes, we're still in the same building), which is directly above the west-facing. Unfortunately, this means that there's no set of stairs leading to a door just outside the room - if you don't show up at the beginning of the night you'll have to call to be let in. Even so, you can get in faster by using the stairs on the east side of the build (overlooking the reserved parking spaces) and going up to the 3rd floor - at least that way you won't have to wait for the elevator. Or you can use the entrance on the ground floor...in any case, same phone number as always: (626) 7655-CAS.

The Diversity Center is located on the 2nd floor of the Center for Student Services (CSS). It's in the north wing (labelled the Keck Wing in the map below). Since the doors to the CSS will generally be locked, there are a few ways into the Diversity Center:

  1. Go up the stairs on the north side of Keck and knock; if we're in the room it's pretty easy for us to hear you. Best way in if it's raining...
  2. Call somebody in the club to let you in. Make sure to let them know if you're waiting at the front doors (west side of the building, requires waiting for an elevator round trip), or on the stairway on the east side (which doesn't require waiting for the elevator, at least).

Showing Schedule

To find the CSS, go to the intersection of San Pasqual and Holliston on the east end of campus, just north of the North Houses. Go north on Holliston; the first building on your right with glass double doors is the CSS. The Diversity Center itself is on the 2nd floor of Keck - the north wing of the CSS. Hint: if you reach the parking structure, you've gone too far.

Outside Links
Anime information that is hosted elsewhere (e.g. Anime News Network).

Other club information will end up linked somewhere around here - you know, list of current officers, the club library and optional membership to borrow from it, club constitution and history (including the old website, since that's probably the easiest way to handle things), that sort of thing.
