Violinist of Hameln Merchandise List

I have chosen not to include CD/LD/DVD/Manga information, because I've seen that on many sites, so I figure everyone knows it by now ^_^; I've also only included legitimate items, no bootlegs and no doujinshi, those are impossible to keep track of and I in no way want to advocate the buying of bootlegs. Here is everything I know of/remember, any more information/pictures would be graciously accepted.
  • Cassette Index Cards
Yeah, that's right, _cassette_. I hear it was some ancient record keeping device that came after those black LD things... Anyway, they feature four different color manga designs, some you might recognize from early manga tankoubans and others that were only in color in Gan Gan. There are 12 in total.

  • Clary's Earrings
Like most toy earrings, these are clip-ons. They're a fairly good interpretation though. I haven't tried wearing them yet, but they're really neat! They're fairly heavy though, so we'll have to see.

  • Clear Files
So far I have found two clear files. The first one is from the television series, featuring on the front one of those great collages (well, this one seems to appear on every piece of stationary from the TV series) and on the back there are some screenshots. The main color is blue. The second one is a manga version, mostly pearly white, but all the characters are in color and ready to attack. The creepy eyes of Oligel are on the back.

  • Collectible Card Game
I don't know much about these, but they appear to be another GanGan special item. The cards are not Hameln only either. Don't know much else, they look like they would be cute to see stats and all, but I haven't wanted to mess with the hassle of obtaining some yet.

  • Comic Novels
I've found 3 of these so far, they're fairly thick (270 pages a piece) so it'll be a while before I can get around to a good book review. The Japanese is about on level of the manga. They're credited to Watanabe and Osamu Kudou (their name ordering in English on the dust jacket) They fit about 17 lines per page and 40 characters per line and are about the size of a normal paperback (just to give you idea of the font size) There's the occasional illustration inside. The cover art varies and was done by other artists.

  • Diary
I happen to really like this item, don't ask me why. It's a tan, hardbound diary. The front features the cover of the second manga tankouban (not the dust cover, the real cover image). Inside, there are a couple pictures repeated. Sizer appears on the back. All images are black and white, mostly very well done line art. Very pretty.

  • Dust Cover
A nice vinyl tan dust cover. It features a group image on the front and Flute on the back. On the inside there's a particularly nice picture of Sizer. It's fairly small, perhaps ten centimeters tall? Again, this is mostly line art.

  • Enix Film Festival 1996 Artbook
This artbook contains information about The Violinist of Hameln movie (as well as the Dragon Quest and Mahoujin Guru Guru movies). It contains a lot of clear screen shots, character descriptions, and lyrics.

  • Enix Manga Special Artbook
This book is really great! It contains a ton of stuff about the manga and great images (Clary on the motorcycle... that just takes the cake). It's lots of fun, run out and get it now!

  • Eraser
A nice eraser with television art, Hamel on once side and Sizer on the other. Very close to the 'Mono Tombo' style erasers that are popular here.

  • GanGan Game Book
Eto... I haven't gotten around to buying one of these yet. Anybody know something about it?

  • Kabaya Hameln Choco & Omake
Kabaya produced "Hameln Choco," some sort of candy snack (never had it ^^;;). The box has anime-ish images of Hameln characters on it. It did however come with some neat Hameln omake. Each box came with two mini figures and minicards. On one side of the car was the powerpoints for one of the fitgures (and an anime image), on the other side was a "background setting" for the figures. These cards were about 4 cm high with the figures being slightly shorter. My set is unpainted figured. Each set came with one "good guy" and one "bad guy." As a lover of figures, I think this is a great set! If only they were a little bigger ^_~

  • Keyholder
This is a keyholder shaped like a violin! But it's -better- than that... it plays music... and even better, it plays like those cheezy "Virtual Virtuoso" thing. Basically, it come with a bow that when it comes in contact with the "strings" (metal wires) of the violin, it produces a note. It doesn't matter where you press, it just plays the next note in the sequence for whatever song you have it set on. The keychain comes with 8 songs (and batteries included! hee hee). These songs includ things like La Campange and Happy Birthday... ^^;;; Anyway, a really fun toy! As keychains go, I think it's a little big (about 12 cm).
    Pic coming sooner or later

  • Lami Cards
These are sometimes called "Idol Cards." So far I have found ones of Hamel, Flute, and Sizer, images taken from the opening, except Hamel which comes from a scene where he's playing the Violin. I'm sure there are others.

  • Note Pad
Well, this turned out to be much better than the poor eBay pictures I had been basing it off of. It's bound on the top with what looks like a cloth. In the corner is a color manga picture of Hamel, Raiel, and Tron with a little itty bitty SD Flute on Hamel's head. The main part or background is a brownish textured (smooth paper, just a textured brown) with a white silhouette of Hamel's hat that takes up a large portion of it. It's about a centimeter thick and it's very cute. Once I get a scan up, the gold portion you will see is on the wrapping.

  • Pandora's Box and Key
Quite possibly the coolest item I have ever owned. Pandora's Box is around life-size, I can't be sure without meeting Flute in real life -_-; It's made of pine and stained the appropriate color. The lock is gold, which is the wrong color, and much too small, it's just for show, it doesn't do anything. The box comes with the key, accurate down to the "God Breath You" and the crucified man. The key comes with a chain to wear it. Really, this is the best item I could think of (after all, who has room for Hamel's Violin?).

  • Pass Case
This is a brown faux leather wallet of 'card slips' for holding things such as 'wallet sized' pictures, business cards, and train PASSes. It has a pic of Hamel and "Violinist of Hameln" 'branded' on it. Also, the back side of the "information" card has the same picture from the TV series that we've seen everywhere, only it's in a tan monotone.

  • Pins
I love these, they're so cute! From the television series, I've been able to find SD Hamel, Sizer, and Raiel, but there must be a Flute (if anyone would like to help me buy one, I would be very interested). There's also a manga design with just Hamel's hat and an undersized violin. This last one is fairly heavy weight.

  • Portrait
This is a lot like the nishikie you might see from other series, in size and general feel. There is a very cute manga design on it, featuring Hamel, with rectangles containing other characters too.

  • Postcards
There are two very nice sets of manga postcards that came bound. You'll find a lot of color work from the first ten or so volumes of the manga in the first one. Some later stuff (and some old stuff) in the second one which comes more in "book form." Beautiful stuff! There's also two singular post cards from the manga that came later and features a collage group shot from the manga, once again they are _very_ nice.

  • Shitajiki (Pencil Boards)
There are seven, one from the television series, four from the manga, two unmarked GanGan ones, and a movie one. I'm missing the one from the movie, it's got the same image on it that the movie art book has. The book has a checkboard pattern of scenes and colors. Anyway, the rest I have scanned here, so I guess I don't need to describe them.

  • Spiral Notebook
This is a fairly thin, tight spiral notebook. The covers appear to be made out of thin packed cardboard. The overall color is a light brown. The front features the same television image that keeps popping up.

  • Super Famicom Game
As in, the Japanese basis for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The game is very cute, you dress up Flute in a variety of embarassing costumes along the way (just like in the manga!) and she becomes useful for overcoming obstacles. It is 16-bit entertainment so don't expect steller graphics by todays standards. You will need either a Super Famicom or a converter to play it in an SNES. Like I said before, I'm not going to advocate any bootleg or not-quite-legal methods here.

  • Telecards
These are one of the few items I'm not actively collecting, there are just too many of them (Go Enix!!). Most of them are color manga designs, they're very nice. If you don't know what a telecard is, it's just the term I'm using for telephone cards. Most are made of similar stock to PP cards (not as nice as say, Carddass Masters cards) and they are similar size to these cards as well. After they have been used for any length of time, small hole(s) are punched in along one side

  • Washcloth
So cute! The one I have is about 15cm square. It's in light blue with a cute image of Hameln (some what chibi-fied) in a darker blue. --> Added: The more I look at this thing, the more I wonder if it's some sort of doujinshi work. It's hard tot ell because of it's media... after all, the Kenshin SDs for the CD case don't really look like most Kenshin art. However, I can't find any copyright information... of course, it might have rubbed off.
