old stuff

I may have a part time job lined up for the school year! After talking to the group supervisor of the Mechanical Engineering Division at JPL, I may be working with engineers on the Athena robot which is scheduled to be launched in 2003. This is the same team who worked on the Sojourner robot that went with the Mars Pathfinder! I don't definetly have the job; things will be finalized when I return to Pasadena before school starts. But things definetly look good.

I can never seem to get away from going to the Metrion (not that I'm complaining). Here are some more postcards from MicrosoftSF. I'm sensing a trend with respect to what I do with my friends out here...

Went to SF with Amy Barr yesterday; went to the SFMOMA which was very cool indeed. We also went to the Metrion and sent out more crazypost cards.

Robin came to visit this weekend; I took off Friday afternoon and picked him up at the airport. We spent Saturday in SF; we took the BART to Powell St. Station and went to Build a Bear and I got Kitty Bearington, a black teddy with red bows on her ears and blue jean overalls. We got to stuff her, put a fabric heart into her, and dress her. It was really cute!
Then we wandered around Golden Gate Park, which is really very pretty, and spent a few hours in the California Academy of Sciences which is not a very good museum, but had some pretty cool things including a big circular tank with ocean fish swimming round and round, lots of tanks with cool exotic fish... sounds like an aquarium, but there was other stuff too.
Then we went to the Metrion and sent a postcard to ourselves similar to the one Robin sent me over spring break.
Unfortunately, he had to leave this morning...

For those of you waiting for something more interesting, it may take awhile; I forgot to bring some stuff with me (photos) from Tech, and anyways I don't have much time to think about web page management; my new job will be keeping me quite busy! Either I'm at work, or reading up for work (I need to catch up on a lot of immunology and genetics) or wandering around the Bay Area. No, really, I am enjoying this!
