Genetic algorithms are impressive in their ability to quickly find the optimum of a given function. Most GA implementations use a fixed mutation rate, but higher performance might be realized by changing the rate of mutation over time. A method for finding the optimal mutation-rate time-series is presented and evaluated herein.
