Latest News: I'm enjoying my lightest course load ever. It's good to be a senior, although I can't believe I'll be gone so soon. Sometimes it feels like I just got here. Besides taking Ceramics and Science Fiction Literature (these count as work!!!) I'm a TA for one of my favorite junior classes, Ge 112 (Geomorphology and Stratigraphy). Additionally, I will probably be doing some additional work in continuation of my SURF research, hopefully eventually leading to a publication.

I am a social member of Ruddock House and a full member of Dabney House. (Dabney House) Since I'm a neo-hippie I fit in quite well at Dabney. This is demonstrated in this photo. I'm the one in the front center. I'm also a member of the Women's Glee Club. (If you happen to be a guy, check out the Men's Glee Club.) Singing is a great way to blow off steam and clear your mind of scholarly matters.

ARCHERY!

I have been a competitive archer for about 3 years. There's something in my nature that craves sending arrows tearing straight into the center of an X-ring. If you're interested in reclaiming your inner warrior, you can find out about local archery at Pasadena Roving Archers. I have also started an archery club at Caltech. Please email me if you are interested in the club.

GEOLOGY

I have rocks in my head! ;) I first became interested in geology while I was going to community college. It combines a lot of my interests, such as hiking, camping, the outdoors, crystals and gems, and solving mysteries. I am most interested in earthquakes; I think of them as geologic time on fast forward. I will be applying to graduate school this term in geology with a focus on active tectonics. For the past few years I have been doing research on Iranian faulting using satellite photos and topographic data, mapping active faults based on geomorphology. If you're interested in geology check out the Caltech Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences.
