In past years, each incoming frosh class was given a crazy,
impractical task which they were to complete in a timely fashion (ahem).
Recent projects have included making a 30' whale appear in Millikan pond,
bringing Christmas to Gates 22 (Snow,
music, and Santa) during a Nate Lewis lecture, and, featured here, turning
Beckman Auditorium into a carousel.

Apparently these "Rome" articles, all featured
in the California Tech's Inside World section, caused a great deal
of controversy. As a result, the 'Tech began to print an Inside
World content disclaimer, and requested that authors obtain permission
