I worked for the Caltech Submillimeter Observatory during Summer 2000. We got to go to the observatory in Hawaii at the end of August. We spent the week working at the observatory, which is near the top of Mauna Kea -- about 13500 feet high. On Saturday, Ryan, Joy and I flew from the Big Island to Oahu in order to bum around the Honolulu area for a little.
Ryan liked Waikiki so much that he decided to stay there for the afternoon. Joy and I went to see Pearl Harbor.
Next to the Memorial is the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park. That was the last thing we had time to see before heading back to the airport in order to return to the Big Island.
