The true measure of a world can be found in its history. Pai-Lau is no exception. Deception, war, mystery and everything in between has come and gone through Pai-Lau's past. It may not always be pleasant, but a world's history is integral to understanding the world itself.

The races that inhabit Pai-Lau are many. A myriad of cultures and lifestyles exist within these groups. Some races, however, are so weak as to have almost no effect on the world. Those who have had enough intelligence and organization to exert an influence Pai-Lau are listed here.

Kingdoms have played an important part in determining Pai-Lau's path through time. They have shaped and molded many of the laws and customs that have come to define the land. But, as with everything, kingdoms cannot last forever. Many have come and gone throughout Pai-Lau's turbulent past. These are the ones that currently retain some amount of influence.

Not to be ignored is the tremendous influence that the gods have had in shaping the face of this world. They capture the hearts and minds of a large portion of the populace. Sometimes this influence leads to a betterment of Pai-Lau; sometimes otherwise. However it manifests itself, though, the power of the gods cannot be denied.
