Caltech Club for Computer Science

High School: Hereford High School

Academic and research interests: I haven’t yet decided which area of Computer Science to pursue. Last year, I took classes in Distributed Systems and Machine Learning. Over the summer I worked with the Infospheres group on distributed radiation detection systems. This year, I’m taking classes in graphics and Quantum Computing. I’m excited about having the opportunity to explore so many parts of Computer Science. I’m also one of the TA’s for CS 2, one of the required classes for the CS option.

Other activities: I’m the president of the Caltech Club for Computer Science. I’m the vice president of Dabney House, as well as a UCC (Upperclass counselor) and Health Advocate. I’m a member of the Chinese Students Association (even though I’m not Chinese). I surf with the surfing club on the weekends sometimes. I’m also trying to get into yoga.

Future plans: I will be applying to CS grad school and industry next year. I intend to end up in academia, but I may take a circuitous path to get there.
