    Yord President Jordan Theriot
    Class of 2012
Jordan is currently working in the Grubbs group completing her senior thesis on the mechanism of Grubbs-Hoveyda type metathesis catalysts. She adores her work there and plans to continue studying transition metal catalysis in graduate school. She also enjoys teaching and hopes to become a professor with a lab of her own one day.

    Larissa Vice President Larissa Yee
    Class of 2012
Larissa is currently interning at Merck Sirna, investigating the potential for siRNAs to become a therapeutic drug, and hopes to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry.

    Ying Secretary Ying Xian
    Class of 2013
Ying is currently working in cell biology, specifically protein pathways relevant to pulmonary hypertension. However, in terms of chemistry, she is interested in synthetic chemistry, especially metal-catalyzed reactions.

Marissa Marissa Barrientos: Caltech Classroom Connection liaison, webMaster, photographer
    Class of 2012
Marissa works in the Peters lab attempting to find a catalyst for carbon dioxide reduction. When she is not being a lab slave, she enjoys photography, coffee, and board games.

    Nadine Academic Director Nadine Currie
    Class of 2013
Nadine:I am currently SURFing in Professor Sarah Reisman's Lab. The goal of her lab is to synthesize natural products and understand the enantioselectivity of these synthetic pathways. The goal of my project is to synthesize pyrroindoline and indoline substrates and then screen them with a chiral catalyst and determine the enantiomeric excess. In 2010, I went SURFing with Professor Geoffrey Blake, and that project focused on the Chemistry of the Outer Circumstellar Disk (which is the dust and gases that collect around a protoplanet). Although I am currently most interested in organic chemistry, I love to learn about all different kinds of chemistry both in and out of class.

    Iva Social Director Iva Rreza
    Class of 2014
Iva is working with the Harrison group in analyzing spectral data of distant galaxies. She plans on continuing an education in physical chemistry with the hopes of one day becoming a professor.
