Christopher Miller

Hello, intrepid reader! Here's some generic vocal info about me, as well as a few vocal clips at the bottom of the page. I'm a versatile and wide-ranged baritenor (useful concert range is roughly from low E to high A, depending on style) who answers to "Chris", "Zeus", "Miller", or sometimes "hey you". I love to belt out the power lead, croon for the ladies, or keep it tightly blended in the background. I have decently mad vocal percussion skills. I'm a quick learner, a good dancer, and I can solve a Rubik's Cube in 2 minutes flat.

Currently, I'm living out a lifelong dream of climbing onto the professional stage. I'm proud to be performing the role of Dr. Neville Craven in The Secret Garden with the La Jolla Stage Company, for their summer run from July 12 to August 11. Come check us out - it's a phenomenal cast and a beautiful show.

Historically, I co-founded and co-directed Ecphonema, the first and only men's a cappella group at Caltech. I did lots of arranging and a little bit of songwriting for them (on top of sacrificing my GPA to the a cappella gods to keep the group running administratively). Feel free to slide over to my poetry page and click on "Look Up" for a taste of my songwriting (it's not always that dark, I swear). My musical influences are a hodgepodge of Billy Joel, matchbox twenty, spiralmouth, *NSync, Will Smith, LFO, Bruce Hornsby, my high school choir director... and my mom (of course!), who's a professional opera singer.

I'm passionate about performing - I've been trying to do this whole day-job-making-a-respectable-living thing, but it's not working for me. I need to be on stage, singing, writing, and spending my days with buds who feel the same. So as you can imagine, I'm really excited about the possibility of working more in the musical field. Without much further ado, here are a few samples of me doing some aspects of my multi-faceted thing. Enjoy!
