Possible Solar Sail Test Flight

Two solar sailing missions have been flown by the Energia Corp in Russia. The spinning sails were deployed from a Progress spacecraft and observed from Mir. An automatic free-flyer test flight is now being studied by Energia, Lavochkin and IKI, using either a secondary payload launch in Russia or a dedicated SS-18 launch. This concept will be presented.
The purpose of the seminar is to discuss interest and possible approaches to test flights for solar sail.
