My discovery of solar sailing closely coincided with my discovery of terrestrial sailing. At the end of my freshman year of high school, I fell in love with the sailing vessel Odyssey, which is a 90 foot yacht operated by a Sea Scout post out of Tacoma, Washington. At about the same time, my brother Drake gave me a copy of Project: Solar Sail. Sailing, whether on Earth's oceans or across the infinitely more vast and empty ocean of space, is a notion whereby you can tap into the vast energies of nature to carry you anywhere your heart and mind desire without the roar, clatter, and belching of fumes that too often fills our lives.

I provide these web pages to inform you about solar sailing and open lines of communication. I hope this will hasten the day when the first vessel will spread its sails to tap the vast energies of the sun to spread humankind silently and effortlessly across space as when our ancestors first tapped the wind to spread across the Earth.
