Inaugural Caltech Dancesport Competition

The Caltech Ballroom Dance Club is pleased to announce the holding of Caltech's inaugural dancesport competition. It will be held at the Brown Gymnasium on the Caltech campus on Saturday, 6 December 2003. We hope to see you there!

— 12 Dec 2003 – 1340 PST —
Caltech finals week is finally over—more accurately, the webmaster is finally done with all of his courses for the term. As such, he can finally go about updating this website.
Comprehensive competition results are now posted. Some pictures from the competition have also been posted. More pictures from the competition will be added to the indicated gallery in a few days.

The competition went off well! Many thanks to the competition organizers, judges, volunteers, and _especially_ the competitors who made this event possible.
For all the competitors, we would love to receive feedback from you regarding how you felt the event was run. Please give both positive and negative (if you have any) feedback regarding things from the online registration form, the order of events, music selection, etc. In the event that we hold this event next year, we would most definitely like to make it better. E-mail feedback to cbdc-comp@ugcs.caltech.edu.
Results for the competition will be posted within 1 week. Pictures from the competition will be posted within 2 weeks.

Less than 1 day to competition!!
Online registration is now closed. Please note that new couples can still register on the day of the event. Currently registered competitors can also add/drop events/partners on the day of the event.
A finalized event schedule has been posted on the Schedule page. This schedule supercedes the preliminary schedule. Please note also that almost all of the events have been moved up to an earlier start time. Also, a 1 hour lunch break has been added.

The directions page has been updated to provide information regarding available places to park on the Caltech campus.
Regarding this page,... those who were trying to access this page yesterday probably were not able to do so. The UGCS servers (where this page is hosted) went offline due to a system compromise. Bravo to the UGCS sysadmins for restoring service! In the event that the system goes down again (i.e., for residual repairs), the registration site is linked directly from the Events page of the main CBDC site. It might be a good idea for those planning to register later to bookmark some of the indicated links.

For those people who had been waiting to get more detailed information regarding our competition, we thank you for your patience in the previous days.

Check back often as some information may change during the course of a 24 hour period. Note that the dance events currently listed under "Events & Awards" is a final draft _but_ is still subject to some minor changes (i.e., removal and/or consolidation).
