Vivian is currently a software engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation. She grew up in Guangzhou China, and immigrated to the U.S. with her mom in 1994. After two years at Pasadena City College, Vivian transferred to UCLA where she graduated with a Bachelor and a Master's degree in Computer Science. She has been working at Northrop Grumman for more than three years.

Eric was born in Shanghai China. He is a master's student at Stanford University. He came to the U.S. in 1995, and met Vivian at Pasadena City College in 1997. After obtaining his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at California Institute of Technology, Eric started his career at Network Appliance as a software engineer. He went back to school in 2002, and is working on his master's degree in Computer Science at Stanford University.

They met each other in a math class at Pasadena City College. "Accidentally", they were in the same group on the first day of the class.
