Interhouse Committee |
Gary Lorden arrives. (He notes that the IHC should consider making a report
about TURLI to the Faculty Board.) About the MOSH: he wants to work with the
IHC to find a selection committee to choose a new MOSH. He hopes that the
committee can be selected next week. A while ago, there was a report on
the position of MOSH saying 1) the MOSH is important, and we should
have one. 2)The MOSH should be more visible to student and faculty. He
should show up at Faculty Board meetings. 3)The MOSH should live at Steele
House. Lorden also likes the idea of having faculty members living
attached to the North and South houses to organize gatherings and parties which
would unite the houses, and to really know the house members and be able
to represent them. He wants very involved members that would support
the MOSH before the faculty board. As for the searh committee
itself, he would like it to include student and faculty
co-chairs, 2 or 3 other students, 2 or 3 other faculty, a rep from Res
Life, and a rep from off campus (as chosen by the Deans or Res Life). He
would like the IHC to propose some individuals, and then he and the Deans
will give their suggestions, and we can hash out the details from there.
His goal is to announce the new MOSH before commencement.
Over the weekend, we should thing of people for the committee, especially
for the co-chair. In thinking of the co-chair, we should remember that
we'd like to keep well informed, and that we want someone with carisma who
will be good at approaching/convincing potential candidates.
Juan asked the IHC's permission (at Res Life's suggestion) to have a band
in the R-F courtyard during Prefrosh Weekend. Granted.
In order to get more Board of Trustee-Student interaction, it is suggested
that we invite the board to dinner. That idea is abandonned in favor of
holding a student leader and trustee dinner. Elise is designated to talk
to the secretary of the Board of Trustees and work that out.
And that, my friends, is the end of that.
