IHC Minutes, 04-25-02

Present: IHC (Robin came late), Shane

Meeting called to order in the Dabney dining hall.

These minutes have been edited for content. They are rated JJ, appropriate for all Republicans from Michigan.

Marcus sez:
-Kim West says another comlete search/interview process for RAs is possible before the end of the year
-At next weeks meeting or thereabouts, we are going to divy up the frosh between houses (based roughly on the proportions of Frosh that each house got last year). One problem is that Dave Armet (not affiliated) is in an exchange program, but The Dane that replaces him needs to have a space in a house. Ideas: give the house that takes him a bonus in picks? or replace a Cambridge person with him?
-The Retreat has to be before check in (Sunday the 22nd of Sept), the date will be decided when Elise hears back about her GE trip

Shane sez:
-There is a meeting this weekend among Athmen to revise the volleyball rules.
-Shane asks Marcus for money for food at the meetings, Mrcus and Shane will hit up the Bursar's Office to find out about the Athman's fund

Monday is Tom Mannion's Bbque on the Court of Man. Profs are suggested to give us the day off for the Student Faculty conference

Elise will arrange the Current/Past IHC dinner with Tom Mannion.

Next Tuesday: ASCIT bylaw vote to say that IHC nominates people for comittees and ASCIT has to approve them. One problem also with last year's nominations- not enough advertisememtn of the positions (that will change this year). Marcus wants to break up interviews over 2 days.

Ben suggests a committee of Athmen that would have the power to vote on rules. All IHC are down with that, but Shane has concerns that the athmen will be hard to organize to make meetings. He is already holding meetings to look at sports rules, we opt to see how those go before we make decisions.
