Jean Ensinger
Talking about Houses and the class about House structure etc that she is organizing
Things about Houses that we don't want be made public
We don't want some things said ' esp. not published
If one person in class says something, then it could be bad
Don't want alcohol, drugs, or some House traditions to be publicized
Don't want students to work on something that the administration needs to know
Jean: "Do no harm"
Will be careful about what is published and said
Some sort of coding system is needed
Ethics needs to be discussed within class
Make a code? Make sure that drug and alcohol is not allowed to be discussed
In journals jot down everything seen and heard
And later it may make sense
Some of these issues, such as drugs and alcohol, aren't crucial
But it is important to let anyone talk about what they want ' then wouldn't be good science
Rotation concerns
Houses change with the people in it
Don't want any pre-frosh to read this and start to have preconceived ideas of houses
Jean: social science is fuzzy wuzzy; won't be producing hard core facts; it's not a science
Could just restrict it to seniors, which would cause a problem of variety and SURF opportunities
Want to open it to sophomores and juniors as well
Jessie: facts won't be anymore damaging than the rumors that spread
What we are concerned about is the ramifications of what is published
Anything made public has to be reviewed by the IHC?
Against scientific ethics and free speech
Journals that people write-totally private and won't be published
Papers people write must be reviewed by Jean but to write to run it through IHC
Anything printed in the academic world, then no Houses named ' House A, B, C, etc
Of course this will be done
Buddy Zoo
Everybody that has you on your IM and vise versa it draws a line!
Study group idea (being done in Harvard as well)
How can we use this to see SAT scores, academic performance coming out on other end
Did the study group people were in influence there performance at the end?
Study groups not static ' very fluid
This makes it even more interesting: time allocation and network analysis
What to do
Social networking (Mapping that for a term) easy to do to start with
Good way to start
It would be sophomores, juniors, seniors studying freshmen?
Studying upperclassmen interesting but very different
Course description
Run through Curriculum Committee
And IHC
When to do this
Plenty of classes that people are taking
People split into anal and prac track
Want everyone in class for network analysis
By third term things are established (Spring sounds better than Fall)

Hand select people that are in the class
Try to cover almost all the Houses ' some sort of distribution

InterHouse trophy disappeared week of Rotation; Disco Trophy disappeared week after Rotation
Get new base and trophy: because it running out of room for plaques
No budget from our side, talk to Tom (Ath man) or ASCIT
Moore Fund if we need money for it
Make Tom write up a Moore Fund for it!
Check trunk room or something to see if housing found it and put it there
This is a pranks so should email IHC about it

Security confiscated our alcohol more than should have been there
Deans number were REALLY REALLY low for number of drinkers (75 people)
Page be warned
Security was being stupid!

Rotation survey
Put together

IHC should see it before put up (PDF and post it on line)

Put it up this weekend
Reflection thing for Picks team
Take the food vendor survey

Good bad times to meet for new committee
