Barrett
introduces himself:
Kristen introduces Penny
Jessie decides to take
the role of the drunken asshole since Lammers had not arrived yet,
Lammers shows up…not drunk yet
Surveys-lazy bums give them to
Jeremy and bug your Houses about it
Natalia and Food Stuff
Meeting about Andre
Status on vendors on declining balance: first
step fine, second step (comparison with Washington and Lee and lawyers)
it's moving-Margo is working on it, next week survey up: Avery once a
week vs Olive Walk bbq, Cstore hours, is hamburger night every other week
okay
Melissa's replacement, starting next week…hopefully have
someone in three weeks; Natalia and Lloyd food rep doing the
interview
Two important survey on Donut
Computer lab
survey-our way of saying you can't get rid of ITS lab
Honor
Code survey-our way of saying that despite the fact that grad students
are lying cheating sons of bitches, and think that we are more so, we can
show we're not-or in theory
Kim Border and Frosh in
Avery
Jessie is STILL a sober jackass
When is he going to this?
No idea
Asimov didn't know about it-not started yet
Kim is
going bring it up on his own
They would make a recommendation,
and then Faculty Board votes-how absolute is the Faculty's vote?
What are we going do: should we follow Tom's advice-and start talking to
people
Arguments: frosh year don't have idea of the Houses…so it
will be good for them to live in the Houses; people the blossom, come
out, socialize because they live in the houses and important for
scientist to do; anyways third term, they can move off, so there is a
choice eventually; frosh put in Avery, parents put them there, and they
don't want to; socialization, learning how Honor Code and collaboration
work is learned in the Houses, upperclassman teach these things;
upperclassmen take a more active role in the frosh in the House, make
sure they are okay; Avery doesn't have UCC or anything of the such, so
frosh aren't taken care of; we're building an 8th House already, don't
need Avery to be 8th House; take into consideration that Grad students
live there and you can't just change the environment on them; we
recognize the fact that the houses aren't meant for everyone, and the IHC
deals with it heavily; we examine the issue of Avery in Rotation every
year
Margo takes it seriously, and she told him about it; Tom and
Galen told her that this can be bigger than fire pot (Natalia is about to
explode)
Probably don't want Avery as an 8th House ' more of an opting
out; but then they would turn into an 8th house-if just opt out, then
frosh don't know what they are opting out to
Avery in Pre-Frosh…hell
no…so as long as we have hosts, then no Avery; if off campus doesn't have
a prefrosh, then Avery shouldn't
They're reasoning (Margo and Kim) is
that if the living condition is so that Faculty don't want to live there,
then frosh wouldn't' error in logic, because Faculty don't want to live
there is because 18 year old college students want to live there
Avery is having dress dinner--$26 professional waiter; we'll do it for
much cheaper (Tom will do it for $7.50)
Lammers the soon to be
drunken, already a jackass
Should Jeremy go to Avery Council meeting?
No-too soon, let it go if it's not that big of a deal
Note to next
year's IHC: maybe have an Avery rep on the Committee choosing
process
Margo meeting chat with her about this and other
issues
Band coming on Saturday night…bbq the chicken, other
animals…come…there will be beverages; in the RF-courtyard
Jeremy is a
fucking asshole.
Capra
Talked to Mannion last week-it is on the
market, and there are ppl that don't think that they should support
student trips (Financial Ppl), so our agreement?
Margo is now dealing
with this…he said he would talk to Margo about it; Jeremy should
too
Dinner at Mannion
Next Monday dinner with Tom
Money
money money
Jessie
Jeremy has sent Ramen-because he
could
Bursars sent a charge about $300 for security; Fleming $150;
$1000 for Page
No one should be charged money for security for
party
Next meeting: Tuesday 11:30; Jane Curtis will come to talk
to us
