IHC Minutes: May 24, 2004

meeting called to order in Fleming House

all present, guests: Matt Krogstad, Ryan Witt

1. Fall housing contracts were due last Friday, summer contracts due Tuesday, June 1
2. Summer housing numbers worked out
3. Need to recommend people for SURFSAC, also submit short description of houses so non-Techers doing SURFs can pick where they want to live
4. Lots of people went to Baja Fresh to support memorial fund for Carlos
5. Allow non-Techers to do Ditch Day stacks?
   • Only with some sort of approval in advance – contact house president
   • Notify people now, then again next year
6. Need people for committee to select architect for South House renovation
   • Interviews next Tuesday night at 10:15
7. Reschedule next week’s meeting (don’t want to meet Memorial Day)
   • Tuesday night after interviews
8. Dean Revel will be staying on for another year
9. Jeff organizing powderpuff football game on Monday, have BBQ afterwards
10. Freshmen in Avery
    • Things to work on:
      • Relationship between Avery and houses
      • Avery finding balance between house and alternative to houses
      • Logistics – rotation, etc.
    • Lots of people annoyed that faculty made decision affecting so many undergrads even though majority of undergrads against it – anything we can do about it? (something to think about...)
