meeting called to order in SAC 33

all present, Quimby was late cause he was watching the Red Sox (go Yankees!)

  1. What days can we meet during lunch?
    • Friday seems to work best, Penny might miss a few though
  2. ITS lab/UGCS lab
    • UGCS may be disappearing soon – not just lab, but servers as well
      • all in favor of lobbying to keep UGCS
      • try to talk to Evan Murphy (undergrad working to keep UGCS)
    • ITS – might be getting rid of lab – we should lobby to keep it too
  3. extra people for ath lists (besides house members)
    • Fleming: Ibrahim El-Awady
    • Lloyd: Dagny Looper, Ben Solecki, Vera te Velde, Ben Olson, Weiyi Li, Denny Chao
    • Page: Tim Boyd, Day Ivy
    • Ricketts: Hans Smith
    • Ruddock: Teddy Yu
  4. Student Curriculum Advisory Committee (SCAC)
    • IHC supposed to submit names
    • wanted frosh, but houses didn’t have frosh yet
    • could just assign ARC reps
  5. food committee – Kasia Gora (food chair) moved off campus
    • not on board now, but waits in Ruddock once or twice a week
    • OK with her staying food chair for now, but try to make sure next food chair will stay on board
  6. lots of faculty want to be involved in houses
    • disagreement over whether we should contact them or they should contact us
  7. Monday, October 11 – National Coming Out Day
    • dessert social at alumni house (345 S. Hill) 7-9pm
  8. panel discussion about frosh camp skit
    • probably Monday, October 18
    • current ideas for students – Galen, Mike Priolo, Ryan Farmer, Joanna – Kim also asked but probably won’t do it
    • Hesper wants someone from her house on panel, more people who were in skit besides Galen – willing to be on it herself
    • maybe Jason Rolfe (Ricketts RA) on panel
    • Will discussion be positive?
      • could turn into attacks on people involved
      • have to be very careful that this doesn’t happen
    • need moderator
      • deans et al want to ask Jessica Edwards
      • other ideas: Rachel Niemer, Ebraheem Fontaine
