IHC Minutes: March 2, 2005
meeting called to order in Fleming

- Chandler closing - got email saying what will be open instead, also N.
House kitchens
- will find out price of meals later today
- we still haven't heard back about how many meals will be prepaid,
when declining balance will turn over, etc.
- reminders
- vote on resolutions by next term hopefully
- find out who NRFAs are, who houses want to ask to be NRFAs
- prefrosh weekend
- expecting about 250 prefrosh
- committee is meeting on Friday, need to tell reps what activities
each house will be doing
- prefrosh in Avery - eat dinner there?
- probably easier than having separate meal there
- encourage Avery residents to eat in dining room around same
time
- dinner Thursday and Friday
- lots of housing stuff
- storage
- trunk room will be gone - maybe have trunk-room-cleaning
party
- S Houses need to figure out what will need to be stored, make
inventory by May 1
- stuff will be moved by June 1
- what about accessible storage space? will there be any? - not
sure yet, maybe in extra trailer (where Tech and Big T will be)
- multipurpose rooms
- houses need to decide what they want to put in there - TVs,
couches, etc
- everybody NEEDS to be out of S Houses by noon on June 11 (day
after graduation)
- mods will open June 1, gives ppl 10 days to move
- pets - ok if live in cages (fish, etc) but no other pets (no
cats!)
- decking between mods will be wood, courtyard furniture will be
provided
- summer housing
- need to figure out numbers by April 15
- non-Techers living in mods - how many trailers to set aside?
which ones?
- will be ~175 extra summer students
- try to figure out between April 1 and April 15 (wait until ppl
hear if they got SURFs so we can gauge how many are staying in each
house)
- also can give them off-campus houses
- cards for off-campus housing lottery will be distributed by
beginning of next term
- options for extra housing for S Houses
- choice btw Chester (4 triples - up to 2 houses), Braun (10
rooms - up to 2 houses), or off-campus house
- only 4 houses for undergrads next year so can't just give one
to each S House
- need to decide by Wednesday
- internal house lotteries - Avery needs to set theirs up (asked for
advice)
