IHC Minutes: May 18, 2005
meeting called to order in Dabney
- Summer housing information
- Peter hands out maps of the modular housing, and asks the south
house presidents to mark the genders of the summer residents of each
room.
- There will be no storage room for individual's belongings, although
there will be storage for clubs and for houses. (This amount of space
will be small, though, and we have been told that any excess stuff
should go in the multi-purpose mods. There will also be a little bit
of storage underneath the decking for the mods.
- Alex K. (alexk@caltech.edu) is the contact for storage in St. Luke's.
- Peter hands out a plan for the decking around the mods.
- There will be normal power outlets around the mod courtyards, but no
high-power outlets.
- There will be a single key for the single-double split rooms, and
the door between them will be lockable only from the double side.
Also, the doors from the bathrooms into the rooms will be on key
locks.
- There is still confusion over whether or not these door can be
blocked. (Are fire code issues involved?)
- Peter reports that there is a Student Housing Committee meeting
next Monday, 9:00 AM in 3:15 Baxter. Stewardship, rotation, and
pricing of housing for next year will be discussed. All are invited.
- Matt will soon start showing his Stewardship Committee document around
to some administrators, so this is the last chance to comment on it.
- Brandi still needs mural policies from people so that she can put
together a mural policy document.
- .A stack or two during Ditch Day were messing with other people's
stack (taking their clues, etc.) -- general opinion seems to be that
this was not a great annoyance for anyone, but in the future seniors
running such a stack should first get the agreement of the seniors
whose stacks will be "modified." It is suggested that someone should
speak with the new Senior Class Co-presidents about this.
