IHC Minutes: 5/30/06
Meeting called to order in Page.
Guests preset: Maria (from Housing).
Committee members absent: none.
- Maria's presentation (Housing):
- Turnover/Closing weekend (June 10/11).
- Housing has asked for help from the presidents and secretaries to get people moved into new rooms.
- Housing talked to RAs, sent out directory emails, and put an article in the Tech.
- Housing office will be open during the check-out weekend (9am-noon, something-3pm).
- Forms will be available both online and in person for checkouts.
- People who will need a late-stay need to fill out the online form by June 1.
- Thumbprint scanners:
- Rudd from the 90s was contacted.
- Units can be gotten for cheaper than expected (most of cost is the installation, not the technology).
- We are putting the Rudd from the 90s in contact with Gregg Henderson.
- Ricky will check about reliability.
- We'd still like open doors, but this is better than card swipe systems.
- Non-RF policy:
- A situation has come up with regards to an incident involving superficial damage to the Fleming bell.
- The IHC will be having closed-doors meetings to discuss this further.
