How to Interrupt a Macintosh
- IIci
-
On the front of the chassis of the Macintosh Ici,
underneath the Master Lock and below the apple logo, you
will notice two flat buttons. Firmly press and release the
right button (the one with a small circle).
- Quadra 660av
- Since there are no restart/interrupt buttons on the
Macintosh Quadra 660av, there is instead a keyboard
sequence to interrupt the computer. To execute it,
simultaneously press the Command and Power-On
keys.
(I don't need to tell power users not to turn use the
power button, do I?)
- Power Macintosh 7100/66
- Either method mentioned above is available on the
Power Macintosh 7100/66. The only difference is
that the restart/interrupt buttons on the front left of
the chassis are round, instead of flat.
A dialog box should appear, with a single ">" prompt. Now
what?
You can type
G O
and watch what happens.
