Alameda County Fair

There were cooking demonstrations by some pretty famous chefs at the fair.  We had a blast meeting these people.  We also walked around the fair and petting goats, sheep, cows, and any other soft creatures.  The weather was gorgeous and it was nice to walk around and be outside all day.

Martin Yan, the Chinese chef

Martin Yan has a tv show on PBS that we watch every Saturday. He did a cool show where he boned a chicken in 18 seconds. He was very nice and gave us a signed picture. We also got the knife he used in the show.

Curtis and Cat

Cat Cora is a chef on the Food Network. For her show, she demonstrated making mozzarella. People were invited to come onstage and watch. I'm sitting right next to the counter and Curtis got to try making mozzarella with her.

He looks pretty happy here. Too bad he's burning his hands on the hot cheese.

Tony Gemignagni

This guy is the 5 time world champion pizza thrower. He tosses pizza like no man's buisness. He has a restaurant in Castro Valley, so we ate there on the way home from the fair. It was really good pizza.

Oddly enough his mother was sitting behind us, so after the show she started talking to us and we met both his parents and his inlaws.
