This is the comic that introduces the theme of family disintegration. We see this through the fact that this comic employs irony to be humorous. Given the diction of Ursula's statement the audience is lead to interpret that public display of gastric irregularity is taboo, however, the response that it is common for Metaldude to belch in the presence of his family indicates that his family is ineffective in teaching social mores.
