Hi all,

So Kim tells me that all the monsters he has used so far he has not made up at all, but pulled them from books.
So... Let's start by guessing what monsters we have actually run into. Please list what sources they came out of please.

This could be a lot of fun.

This is also open for those of you in the home version of the game out there.

Can't wait to find out what we have been fighting.

Just a hint: only look for monsters that have a will save attack.

Hi all,

In case you were wondering I meant the monster that we have already fought and defeated. I was not going for any Psychic visions of what monsters will we fight in the future.

The answer: The monster encountered by our intrepid (?) heroes (??) on the lowest level on the mining complex, in the room with the shalakite cylinder.

Ok.
So what is a Gibbering Mouther?
What can it do?
What book did it first appear in?

I'll have to see if I can remember... off the top of my head, I'd say its in the 3.5 Monster Manual (it was in the 3.0 MM, and I can't think of any reason for them to have removed it). I'll have to dig up the book to see if I'm right and get abilities.

Howdy all!

This is a mighty fun game that Mark has proposed. Let's try to be careful with it, since I'd prefer players to avoid sourcebooks like monster references if possible. The primary reason is to retain a sense of wonder when encountering new monsters, magic items, traps, etc.

So, by all means look up a monster that you know exists, but please do not go rifling through your sources trying to find them. If I find that players become too familiar with the monsters we encounter, then I'll make them all up. icon_wink.gif

Also, I'd like to place a guess on one of the monsters. I think that the chameleonic creatures you fought are indeed Skulks, and that the first one appeared in Dr. Strangefate #1. icon_smile.gif
