Arson Backus is a Half-Troll fighter. He has been enslaved for years and is quite sick of the whole deal. He was captured by Quaal'Aneesh early into adulthood. He spent several years there before until Quaal'Aneesh fell. He was captured by the Slavers in the revolt, and then again by the Enkari Empire during an attack on the border city where he worked. Through it all, the only constant was his mistreatment and enslavement.

Arson is fed up with his life. He would now rather die than work another day for a heartless master. He has decided to run away from his captors and meet the worst. He hopes the primative fighting techniques he developed while he was young will come back to him and enable him to survive.

He's a friend of Nar-Kurog.
