Or, how to have a wedding with 5 days of planning and $100

The wedding took place at the top of Mt. Wilson, above Pasadena.

There was a bit of last minute planning. Well, actually, there was a lot.

Our friend Will, who took all these pictures, wanted a sort of "bride getting ready" picture. But since Sam was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, putting on chapstick was the best he could do.

Isabel, Sam's 9-year-old sister, designed the programs
We were married by our good friend, the Reverend Curtis Smith
We had a very hard time figuring out what to include in the ceremony. With the help of the internet, we included traditions from several cultures in our wedding. We didn't intend for it to be offensive, but due to our lack of time and money, we probably butchered all of them. Hopefully it came across as amusing rather than offensive.
Traditions include:

Henna tattoos (Hindu...but we did them with a Sharpie marker)

Handfasting: tying our hands together with red ribbon (Wiccan...but we used yarn)

The groom carried a piece of iron in his pocket (Italian...we got the piece of iron off the fence in front of our house)

We stepped on an alcoholic beverage container (Jewish)
Eventually we'll get tattooed wedding rings
Our vows were short and simple
And then we were married!
And then there were lots and lots of hugs
Then Will gathered everyone for pictures

The new Lawler family portrait

Adam and his new family-in-law
Then we drove down the hill to our house and had a party.
We made all the food the previous day with the help of my mom.
After the party...
Thanks to everyone who came, and we're sorry we couldn't invite everyone on such short notice!
We have higher resolution versions of all the pictures, if anyone wants them.
