Here's Notre Dame, what I consider the "back" because you always see pictures of the
other side, even though it doesn't have a little garden or nice places to sit like
here.

You can see the line of people ahead of us waiting in the rain to get into the Louvre.

Believe it or not, these cars are actually moving fairly quickly, without lanes.
I took this picture from the top of the Arc de Triumph, there are something like
10 streets radiating out from the Arc.
The family I stayed with in Paris said that if there's an accident in this circle
fault is always considered to be 50/50 because it's impossible to tell who made a
mistake.

Gilead in front of the Arc.

Gilead in the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles.

Still at Versailles: The fountains weren't turned on because of the season, but this one was cool anyway.

Paris: I'm home! Or not.

I liked this church in Brussels better than the ones in Paris. There was no line
to get in and it was a much more peaceful experience.

While staying in Amsterdam we took a day trip to Zaanse Schans, a village that still
does traditional crafts and things. There's a chocolate factory there and you can
smell it blocks away. We got to go inside of the windmills in the photo and see how
it works. The next few pictures are all in the village.

It was the first time we'd been out of the city in
over a week, and it was refreshing to see plants and grass again.

It's hard to tell in the scanned photos but the walkways in this area are made of
seashells.

We went to a clog store and watched a live demonstration of how you make clogs.
They had a tradition that when a man proposed he would carve a pair of clogs for
his bride-to-be.

It snowed the day before we got to Berlin and it froze every night, fortunately
they have great museums there.

These two are the Pergammon museum. It's probably the best museum I've ever been to. There's a lot of
architecture and mosaics, big things you don't find in other museums. I mean,
who has space in their museum for an entire temple?

The Ishtar Gate, I believe it's from Babylon.

I really liked Neuschwanstien, I wish we could have spent longer there. This is the
castle that Sleeping Beauty's was modeled after.

The area around the castle was beautiful, if I could do it again I would have spent
all day just walking around the area. This photo is looking down from the bridge.
The photo before it is looking across from the bridge to the castle.

The grounds of some palace in Munich. Dave and I sat here and relaxed for a while
on his first day in Europe.

St. Peter's: We didn't have time to go in, but it's nice from the outside.

I really liked Rome and fully intend to go back someday when I can speak Italian, so I threw a coin in the
Trevi Fountain. The fountain itself was also a beautiful place to be, although a
little crowded and noisy.

I took this photo from the vaporetto (the Venitian equivalent of a bus) on the way
from the train station to the hotel. You can see the platform in front of the
church there where the vaporetto stops to pick up and drop off people.
