Mary Anne Salad
1 large firm head iceberg lettuce
1 c mayo or salad dressing
1 Tbs milk
1 large puple onion - sliced paper thin
1/4 c sugar
1 pkg (10oz) frozen peas - cooked, drained, and cooled
1 pkg (8oz) Swiss cheese - cut in thin strips
1/2 lb bacon - fried and crumbled
- Cut lettuce into bite size chunks, place 1/2 in large salad bowl
- Blend mayo with milk in small bowl, drizzle 1/2 over lettuce
- Top with 1/2 onion
- Sprinkle with 1/2 cheese, 1/2 sugar, and then 1/2 peas
- Repeat all layers
- Chill at least 2 hrs
- Just before serving cook bacon, drain on paper towel and sprinkle over salad
