Kain is an elf of somewhat past middle years, though the only hint of his two centuries of life is the shining silver
of his hair. An elf of grand gestures and fantastical tales, Kain is quick to spin yarns of both his an Pai-Lau's facinating pasts -- which are as
likely as not to be blatant lies. His true past is so shrouded in rambling fictions of women loved, kingdoms overthrown, and treasure plundered that
even the most astute of listeners will find their questions drowned among tales of days long past. Greeting all with a friendly air and seeming deep respect, Kain uses clever lies along with flattery and his vast knowledge of history to manipulate people to his own ends. Kain lulls his targets into a sense of security and friendship, only to betray their trust when most advantagous for him, or to use thir power for protection and to furher his own ends. Extortion, kidnapping, murder, treason, and even simple theft; none have been too base for his "talents." His intimate familiarity with most of Pai-Lau allows him to fit in and work his wiles in almost any social circle or remotely civilized area of the land. Kain served as a freelance courier for the slavers of Quaal'Aneesh for some time, untill the Enkari invasion of the Scavenger Kingdoms. From the documents he carried Kain managed to discover the newly budding alliance between Suuldrak and the slavers, and decided to place himself as far as possible from the coming turmoil in his homeland -- just in case the revolt failed. He figured the best place for one of his "talents" was the still forming Enkari empire. A new kingdom should have many places and opportunities for one to rise to power, or at least find a powerful patron. Fate however found a different position for him. The army not being much to his liking, Kain has decided to seek a more proffitable venue. If the attempt to leave seems destined to fail, Kain can always turn in his fellow deserters to the Enkari authorities. Who knows, there might even be a reward for one willing to seek out and expose such treachous scum as these... |
