Photos Rant #5

Well, not to be outdone by Greg's contribution of pictures, here are a bunch of pictures I took at the SSP 1999 Alumni Weekend. Now, I realize that the kids in the picture aren't us, so technically, you probably don't care, but if you blink really fast while jumping up and down while flailing your arms, they look a little like we did. =P But first, a treat. To the right is a picture of Kenneth in the Mac lab (which has been filled wih iMacs), doing his best impression of the iMac girl. What do you think? =P

Here are two pictures of the Dr. Stephen's traditional lecture that always seems to fall on Alumni Weekend. =) And then the students, in typical herd behavior, migrate to the field.

Here are various activities that seem to repeat year after year. First creating a shape or letter, then trying to create a n-legged monster, and third a water balloon toss.

Then comes the pie eating contest, which Kenneth participated in. I wouldn't be opposed to participating in such a contest (aside from the fact that I was taking pictures) but grass and weeds tend to find their way onto the plate, and I'm supposed to cut down on the chlorophyll in my diet. =P And there's the winner (who wasn't Kenneth, unfortunately).

And finally the rest of the activities. After trying to untie a human knot, the students form seated lines and they try to pass the bucket full of water in relay fashion. The TAs usually make sure that no one cheats by dumping water on anyone that does, but they also tend to be a little overzealous too. =)

Then the day wraps up with a guest lecture from Gary Horne (TA our year, and instructor later on). I believe he had a lecture on the ability to fool people in things like predicting the future. And finally I managed to get Mary Ellen in a decent photo with this picture of her standing with Dr. Stephens.

Well, that's about it. But I guess I should include at least one picture with fellow SSPers from 95, so here's a picture of Jason, Way, and Henry when we got together at Claremont McKenna once. See all the fun you miss out on when you don't live in LA? =)

Okay, that's pretty much all the pictures I've gotten my hands on. Again, if anyone has pictures they want to send, please do. If you don't have access to a scanner, you can send the actual pictures to me, and I'll send them back after I'm done with them.
