QOD #22
Michael and Marie are walking along the beach when they encounter an odd-looking person with a very pale complexion. The stranger is obviously confused and lost and asks them which was is west.
Marie, always astronomically minded, notes that the sun is setting onthe horizon and says, "Well, the sun is setting right over there."
The stranger then says, "I'm sorry, I'm not from this area, for that looks like east to me. Besides, it is always cloudy where I live!"
Where is the closest place the stranger could be from, assuming he works by the solar day as we do (from sunrise to sunrise)? Assuming that he also defines a year as we do, devise a calendar system that does not vary much after a large number of years.
