QOD #7 Solution
Solution
Ok, so if it takes Neil t minutes to get up to the dome, then, when he got there at 1 am, his clock in his room was already t minutes fast. He left the dome at 3 am, when his clock reads 3 hours, t minutes and travels for another t minutes. He gets to his room at 3:34, or when his clock reads 3 hours, 2t minutes. Thus, t must be 17 minutes. So, since his clock is 17 minutes fast, when it says 3:34, it must actually be 3:17. But then hs sets it at 10:00, so now his clock is 6 hours, 43 minutes fast.
By the way, Neil, the answer to Tae's infinite question game was OJ Simpson
Comments
- Unfortunately, without a copy of the original QOD, I dare not extrapolate from the solution, since that would not contain the original richness of this QOD
- Infinite Questions was a game that Paul introduced, though I had already had much experience with those type of puzzles. The name alludes to the game Twenty Questions, as Infinite Questions refers to a puzzle that must be solve from an unlimited number of yes-or-no questions
- Three comments were scrawled on the bottom of this QOD:
- OJ who?
- GO OJ!
- Just 3 words: Not Guil-TY
- Henry says: the comment *originally* said: "Just 2 words: guil-ty." I believe I wrote that, and Paul(?) changed it to "3" and "not."
So that's why the "3" looked so funny...
