2Bundles

My doctoral dissertation (University of California-Riverside, 2006) is Higher Gauge Theory I: 2-Bundles, which categorifies the concept of fibre bundle to the (algebraically) higher-dimensional concept of 2bundle and proves the equivalence (in appropriate cases) of 2bundles and gerbes. This is part of the work by my advisor John Baez on higher gauge theory.

Here are some other versions of the paper, in PostScript and PDF, both of which can be viewed on almost any operating system using Ghostview. Other file formats may be available upon request.

• In the asinine format required by the UCR Graduate Division (twice as long and missing the index of symbols, which just would not fit): in PostScript, in PDF;
• The bleeding-edge alpha version (with Exercises for myself —or other active researchers— and many incomplete sections, but fewer typos): in PostScript, in PDF.
